| چکیده | ||

| Unconscious Recreation of the Text in Translation: A Case Study of André Breton’s Nadja | ||
| چکیده [العربیة] | ||
| André Breton’s Nadja is a quintessential work of the surrealist genre, characterized by sentences that, in their underlying structure, reveal the unconscious, illusion, and imagination of the writer. The present study, grounded in Jean Bellemin-Noël’s theories about the unconscious of the text, aimed to examine Kaveh Mirabbasi’s Persian translation of Nadja. The analysis sought to determine whether the translator had effectively recreated the psychological elements in the target language, which manifest in automatic writing, dreams, free association, and the surrealist use of contrasting elements. To uncover the writer’s unconscious, the study went on to analyze the source text by focusing on these elements as well as the sentence structure, thematic repetition, metaphors, techniques, word choices, and other textual markers. Then, the comparison with the target text helped determine to what extent the translator had accurately reconstructed these aspects. The results indicate that Mirabbasi has largely succeeded in recreating the unconscious of the text through literal translation. | ||
