| land, it is as though he had killed all mankind...," (al-Māʼidah:32) articulates a profound relationship between the sanctity of individual life and the integrity of humanity as a whole. Utilizing a descriptive-analytical methodology and engaging with the philosophical works of the Mulla Sadra School, this study aims to elucidate this relationship based on the principles of Transcendent Philosophy. The central research question concerns how, within the framework of Transcendent Philosophy, the act of killing or reviving a single individual can be equated with the killing or revival of all people. The importance of this inquiry lies in offering a philosophical interpretation of a central Qur’anic verse and providing a deeper understanding of the relationship between the individual and society. The working hypothesis posits that, according to Mulla Sadra’s philosophy, human individuals are, from one perspective, manifestations and instantiations of a unified existential reality. Conversely, from another perspective, individuals are manifestations and theophanies of the Perfect Human reflected in various forms and degrees. The findings demonstrate that, within the Sadrian framework, human individuals represent manifestations of the specific reality of the human species and varying degrees of the Perfect Human. As a result, their actions, insofar as they pertain to this shared reality, generate effects that extend beyond the individual level. Consequently, the killing or revival of any individual exerts an ontological impact on the human species as a whole and on the manifestation of the Perfect Human, such that acts of evil or good influence the entirety of that specific reality as well as the Perfect Human. Thus, Transcendent Philosophy offers a comprehensive ontological interpretation of the verse, underscoring the absolute sanctity of human life and the essential interconnectedness between the individual and society. | ||
