| Le roman, considéré comme la forme littéraire par excellence de l’époque bourgeoise, illustre la dynamique sociale et raconte l’histoire d’un personnage problématique. L’un des concepts développés par la société contemporaine est celui de « héros problématique », une notion introduite pour la première fois par le critique hongrois Georg Lukács, puis approfondie par son disciple Lucien Goldmann, pour qui, l’interaction entre la littérature et la structure sociale a permis à la littérature de servir de réponse aux enjeux posés par cette dernière. Des œuvres contemporaines présentent des héros qui non seulement agissent, mais réfléchissent profondément à leurs actions et leurs motivations. Elles ne se concentrent pas uniquement sur l'accomplissement d'un objectif héroïque, mais explorent le processus de recherche de soi et la confrontation avec des réalités morales complexes. Le héros de ce type de roman, souvent issu du peuple, se pose en critique de la société et cherche les valeurs authentiques qui font cruellement défaut. C’est le cas du héros/narrateur du roman Le Testament Français(1995) d’Andreï Makine, auteur russe d'expression française. Alors, cet article, s’appuyant sur une approche analytique-descriptive, vise à étudier le concept du héros problématique dans ce roman, selon la perspective sociologique de Goldmann. Les résultats de la recherche montrent qu'Aliocha, protagoniste du roman, est un héros problématique du fait de sa solitude existentielle et sa quête de valeurs authentiques; il cherche dans un monde utopique un exutoire à ses angoisses quotidiennes. | ||

| Acknowledged as the foremost literary form of the bourgeois era, the novel adeptly illustrates social interactions and narrates the experiences of a conflicted protagonist. The notion of the "problematic hero" has become increasingly prominent in modern discourse, initially introduced by Hungarian critic Georg Lukâcs and subsequently expanded upon by his disciple Lucien Goldmann. They contend that the reciprocal relationship between literature and social frameworks enables literature to address the challenges presented by prevailing social circumstances. In modern narratives, heroes are depicted as individuals who not only take action but also engage in significant reflection regarding their motivations and the implications of their choices. These figures extend beyond the mere achievement of heroic aims; they investigate the intricacies of self-discovery and the confrontation of multifaceted moral challenges. Frequently originating from the general populace, such heroes act as societal commentators, in search of the genuine values that are often missing. This is illustrated through the hero/narrator in Andreï Makine's Le Testament Français (1995), a work by a Russian author who writes in French. This article adopts a descriptive analytical approach to explore the concept of the problematic hero in this text, utilizing Goldmann's sociological perspective. The research reveals that Aliocha, the protagonist, exemplifies the problematic hero due to his existential loneliness and his quest for authentic values, as he seeks solace from his daily struggles in a utopian universe. | ||
